Servings: 4–6
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30–40 minutes
Total Time: 40–50 minutes
Appliance: Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 1 kg Maris Piper potatoes
- ½ tbsp plain flour
- 2 tbsp polenta
- Oil, salt, and pepper to taste
- 15 g parmesan (or nutritional yeast for a vegan version)
- 6 g freshly chopped parsley
Preparation Method
Boil and prep the potatoes
Peel the potatoes and cut them into 4–6 chunks, depending on size. Place them in a pot of salted water, cover with a lid, and bring to a boil. Cook until just tender. Drain and shake the potatoes gently in a colander to roughen the edges — this helps create that irresistible crispy exterior.
Coat and season
Transfer the potatoes to a roasting tray. Lightly dust with flour using a sieve, sprinkle over the polenta, and drizzle with oil. Toss to coat evenly, then season generously with salt and pepper.
Air fry to crispy perfection
Select Air Fry, set the temperature to 195°C, and the time to 35 minutes.
When prompted to Add Food, place the potatoes inside. Shake the basket when prompted to Turn Food for even crisping.
Add the final touch
At the 30-minute mark, check for crispiness. If golden and nearly done, sprinkle with either parmesan or nutritional yeast and return the basket for the final few minutes.
Serve
Once golden and crisp, plate the potatoes and finish with freshly chopped parsley. These roasties are the ultimate air fryer side dish — simple, satisfying, and packed with texture.
