The Instant Pot sealing ring is an integral part of the Instant Pot safety mechanism. It is designed, engineered, and constructed with the optimal material to achieve the hardness and strength necessary to withstand the high pressure forces during high-pressure electric cooking. Instant Pot® sealing rings have passed UL, FDA, and LFGB testing for safety, including food safety. To ensure that your Instant Pot multicooker continues to perform as intended, only authentic Instant Pot® sealing rings are used with your Instant Pot multicooker. It is recommended that you replace your Instant Pot sealing ring every 12-18 months. However, the sealing ring is porous and can absorb odors and become discolored. To prevent discoloration and odors, you may want to replace the sealing ring every 6-12 months.
